The Water Agency was created in 1953 to ensure adequate and safe drinking water, as well as to preserve the county’s precious drinking water supply. The Water Agency also serves as the advocate for Westchester consumers and suppliers; is the liaison with other agencies whenever major issues arise relative to our water supply; and takes action to address and resolve the problems. A major issue the county faced in 2002 was a drought.

The Water Conservation Hotline number is (914) 813-5436.
