The following road corridors have been selected for development primarily as a bike route system. They mostly include state and U.S. routes, but to a lesser extent utilize county and local roads. They have been selected based on a number of factors including their ability to create viable links between population centers, commercial and recreational facilities (including off-road paths), scenic qualities and east-west orientation. Also considered were routes identified and used on a regular basis by established bicycle clubs.
The purpose of mapping these routes is to provide a framework for future road improvements for accommodating bicycle travel. This will most often involve providing 6-foot wide shoulders in both travel directions where feasible, but could also result in bicycle travel lanes or off-road parallel paths in high traffic corridors where sufficient right-of-way is available. Conversely, in lower trafficked routes, and where road widening is not possible or desirable, routes would be posted with bike route signage.

This county road corridor is situated between Kensico Dam Plaza and Route 117 and is recommended by the town to be developed as a bike path.
|Cross Westchester - Rockland Link
This mid-county east-west route follows Westchester Avenue through White Plains to Route 119 and calls for a path on the Tappan Zee Bridge to connect into Rockland County.

|Croton Aqueduct Extension
This link between the North County, Briarcliff-Peekskill and Old Croton Aqueduct Trailways primarily utilizes Croton Dam Road, a local unimproved dirt road on the south shore off the Croton Reservoir. It also follows part of Route 134.
This county road route links downtown White Plains with Silver Lake County Park and the County Airport.
|Long Ridge Road
This county road route links Bedford Village (Route 22) with a Connecticut DOT designated bike route in Stamford.
This route, identified in the White Plains Comprehensive Plan, runs along Bloomingdale Road and Mamaroneck Ave south to the Hutchinson River Pathway and Saxon Woods County Park entrance. It is anticipated that portions of this route could be developed as an off-road facility where sufficient road right-of-way is available.
Situated on the south side of Titicus Reservoir between Routes 22 and 121, this town- recommended route follows local roads to connect the North Salem hamlets of Purdy’s and Salem Center.
This county road route provides a relatively short distance link between the Bronx River Pathway and South County Trailway.
|Pelham Shore Road
This county road route forms a spur off Route 1 in New Rochelle and follows the shoreline, providing a link to Glen Island County Park and connects with a Bronx Greenway in Pelham Bay Park.
This alignment spans the entire Route 1 corridor from New York City to Connecticut, linking all the Sound Shore communities.

This route is primarily a commercial corridor between the Bear Mountain Parkway and Putnam County and has been improved in sections with wide shoulders. Route 6N (East Main Street) is a less traveled parallel road that is proposed to be signed as a bike route.

This route is along one of the counties most dramatic and scenic roadways. It leads to the Bear Mountain Bridge connecting into Rockland/Orange Counties. A short spur route north of the bridge on Route 9D provides a connection into Putnam County. The narrow, winding and hilly nature of road will require special design treatment to safely accommodate bicyclists.
Follows Route 9A from Buchanan to Croton where it crosses the Croton River on the Route 9 bridge pathway, continuing south on U.S. Route 9 to downtown Yonkers, continuing south on Riverdale Ave. to connect into Bronx. Provides numerous intersections with the Old Croton Aqueduct Trailway.

From White Plains north to Putnam County, this central route through the north county links hamlets and is a popular route with organized bike groups. The section between Armonk and the Kensico Reservoir is improved with wide shoulders.

This corridor is a key east-west route in the northern part of the county and is proposed to be improved for bicycle travel between the North County Trailway at the Somers/Yorktown line and state line where it links with a Connecticut designated route. The section between the hamlets of Whitehall Corners and Katonah is improved with wide shoulders. Its development as a bicycle route should consider parallel offroad paths where feasible to address safety concerns in highly trafficked sections. An alternative Cross River bypass route through Ward Pound Ridge reservation along Boutonville Road and Route 124 could be considered.

|Route 100 Central Park Avenue
Follows the entire commercial Central Park Avnue corridor from the County Center to the New York City line.

|Route 100 Somerstown Turnpike
This route runs between the North County Trailway and Putnam County, utilizing portions of Routes 118 and 202. It passes by Muscoot County Farm and through the Somers hamlet and is fairly level for most of its length. The section between Routes 118 and 35 is already improved with wide shoulders in both directions.
Between U.S. Route 9 and Route 35. It follows Route 117 from U.S. 9 to Bedford Hills, utilizing Lexington Ave in Mount Kisco, a 0.75 mile off-road path between Bedford Hills and Katonah and Bedford Road through downtown Katonah. The section between Route 9 and the Taconic Parkway is a divided 4-lane roadway containing wide shoulders in both directions.

Situated between U.S. Route 1 and Route 22, this alignment is a popular biking route, providing a major connection to north county touring routes and the county airport.

This north county route branches off from Route 22 in Bedford Village and continues north into Putnam County. It passes through a scenic semi-rural landscape occupied by horse farms and low-density development. It also links the historic north county hamlets of Bedford Village, Cross River and Salem Center, as well as Mountain Lakes and Ward Pound Ridge County Park facilities.

Provides a link between Route 22 in Armonk and Route 117 in Mount Kisco and also connects with Wampus Pond County Park.
