The quality of water leaving this pond is cleaner than the water entering it thanks to newly installed aquatic plants along the pond edge and in the pond itself. Freshwater ponds are ecologically valuable because they absorb flood waters, control erosion and sedimentation, improve water quality, recharge groundwater supplies, maintain surface water flows, uptake excessive nutrients, and provide fish and wildlife habitat.
